November 17th, 2021 (Washington, DC) — The Groove Junkies in partnership with Words Beats & Life have debuted a captivating new music video called “All Around the World” an evocative depiction of different moments and feelings expressed through dance and music by local and international dance troops and their pupils. The video is a harmonious blend of highly stylized choreography and traditional dance movements from the US, Congo and Uganda.

WASHINGTON, DC - On June 19th from 1pm-7pm EST / 10am-4pm PST / 6pm-12am GMT, Words Beats & Life will air its third installment of its Off the Couch Virtual Dance Party series on WBL's website, and Twitch channel. Venues are reopening and DJs are back to entertaining live, still, its evident that live streaming is here to stay. Streaming platforms allow music fans to party with their favorite DJs and artists even if they live across the country.

Washington, DC—For the first time in its 20 year history, Words Beats & Life will launch in-person and virtual Summer Academy classes.

From June 28th to August 6th WBL, in conjunction with Office of Out of School Time: Summer Strong Initiative, will offer a 6 week hybrid style Summer Academy during which students will immerse themselves virtually or in-person, in one of the following arts education tracks: visual arts, music, performing arts, arts management and entrepreneurship. This approach will help students to reconnect and to establish the safe, supportive learning context in which they can continue to develop. Students will accelerate their experience through experiential creative learning, hands-on artistic development, field trips and much more, a learning curriculum designed by Academy Manager Serena Lewis and her team.

WASHINGTON, DC— Words Beats & Life will host its fourth episode of the virtual culinary show Eats + Beats, next Sunday, March 21st at 1pm. Eats + Beats is a show where chefs and music producers break bread and chop it up - literally. Every month, WBL hosts a candid conversation via Facebook and Twitch where the guests explore the commonalities in how they move from inspiration to execution to final product. This month will feature Chef KaTisha J. Smittick (@mentals.meals) and producer, Noe Zelaya (@nozsbeats).

WASHINGTON, DC—Words Beat & Life local Hip Hop non profit and Dominic ‘D. Painter’ Painter, curator of FADE LA and World70 are back with another ‘Off the Couch’ event. The event will air March 20th in the afternoon from 1pm-8pm EST to accommodate international time zones and will deliver a killer line up of 5 notable DJs streamed via 2 channels: WBLinc.org and facebook. Dominic, a veteran DJ himself, has curated an Allstar cast of DJ’s from Jamaica to Paris to get those buns off the couch and onto the dance floor.
