Afshin, Shablast, Francesca Harding, G33zy, and Kendollaz to showcase their DJ skills in part II of Words Beats & Life’s ‘Off the Couch’ series
WASHINGTON, DC—Words Beat & Life local Hip Hop non profit and Dominic ‘D. Painter’ Painter, curator of FADE LA and World70 are back with another ‘Off the Couch’ event. The event will air March 20th in the afternoon from 1pm-8pm EST to accommodate international time zones and will deliver a killer line up of 5 notable DJs streamed via 2 channels: WBLinc.org and facebook. Dominic, a veteran DJ himself, has curated an Allstar cast of DJ’s from Jamaica to Paris to get those buns off the couch and onto the dance floor.
In response to the pandemic, Words Beats & Life has been live-streaming virtual DJ dance parties, live musical and spoken word performances to get all the weekend warriors stuck at home a taste of how things used to be.

Featured DJ’s include: the founder of Paris’ legendary Djoon Club and seasoned disco, funk and house DJ Afshin (@afshindjoon), Paris, France. DC’s own, Shablast (@shablastentertainment); a musician, a DJ and a producer will spin some nostalgic classics with an old school funk and disco set. All the way from Kingston, Jamaica, G33zy (@ig33zy), who is on a mission to deliver dancehall culture to the world will be spinning high energy fast paced beats that reflect the Kingston nightlife scene. Last but most definitely not least, repping for the ladies Francesca Harding (@thefrancescaharding), LA based radio host and DJ will spin some Latin flavor, and of course, the illiest, Philly DJ, Kendollaz (@djkendollaz) will keep listeners pumped with her Hip Hop and RnB throwbacks.
Due to the series’ gaining a number of views and increasing streaming numbers for each artist, each ‘Off the Couch’ is now available on Twitch and Mixcloud.
