WORDS BEATS & LIFE AND THE GROOVE JUNKIES COLLECTIVE HAVE TEAMED UP TO DROP THE LATEST DANCE VIDEO “ALL AROUND THE WORLD”

Watch All Around the World

November 17th, 2021 (Washington, DC) — The Groove Junkies in partnership with Words Beats & Life have debuted a captivating new music video called “All Around the World” an evocative depiction of different moments and feelings expressed through dance and music by local and international dance troops and their pupils. The video is a harmonious blend of highly stylized choreography and traditional dance movements from the US, Congo and Uganda.

Produced by Shanna Lim aka Shae, WBL’s resident dance instructor, the latest video puts youth dancers at its forefront, in front of scenic cityscapes that transport viewers on-location.  WBL and the Groove Junkies continue to introduce their fans and followers to local and international arts programs that exist to empower dance advocates of all ages to create and share their collective passion to showcase that dance is truly a universal form of expression.

One of the featured dance troop leaders, Bush Sebar, the cofounder of Invisible Kids Congo is on a mission to create visibility for the youth in his home town of Congo.

“To be invisible is to not be seen. Kids are out on the streets of Congo with no one to take care of them and the government doesn't bat an eye. Our mission is to use dance in order to make them visible again.”

-Bush Sebar

Sebar’s traditional style of Ndombolo dancing is heavily-rooted in Congolese culture. He was able to develop his skills thanks to the free dance classes that were offered to him as a child. In order to share this privilege with the kids in his community, he opened up his own dance academy in 2021. Through teaching, he wants to be able to travel the world and have the opportunity to attend different festivals and events.

Other featured dancers echoed similar sentiments. Featured dance troops include Groove Junkies Collective (@shannalim_slimboogie), The Lab, Dream House Uganda ( @dreamhouseuganda), Fresh Academicz (@freshacademicz)  and The Invisible Kids Congo (@invisible_kids_academy243). The video is live today on WBL (@wordsbeatsandlife) and Youtube. Check it out.
