Richard Patterson (DJ Unown) is a Producer, Artist, Audio Engineer and DJ from the DMV. He started making music at 12 years old and though self taught his passion pushed him towards a career in music and sound. He attended Omega Studios School, and worked As a live sound engineer for over a decade. Simultaneously Unown cultivated a name for himself in the DMV hip hop scene. In 2006 he began touring internationally with PG's own rapper/producer Oddisee. Coming from a family of educators teaching is second nature to him. He taught after school music programs at Duval High school and returned to his alma mater as an engineer instructor teaching classes on beat production, Midi, big console mixing as well as life skills in the industry. Currently DJ Unown still tours with Oddisee and his Live band GoodCompny playing the MPC. He produces for artists all over the globe. He also DJ's and records artists as an Audio Engineer. Whether it's the stage, the studio or the classroom Unown brings decades of experience and knowledge, presenting it in a way that's fun and easy to learn.
