Chenjera Floyd (CJ) is a native Washingtonian photographer located in Maryland. He earned his Bachelors in Studio Arts and Media from the University of New Mexico in 2021. He is currently a part of the Words Beats & Life team as an academy youth development specialist. He was once a student taking graffiti, DJ production and street art, then becoming a social media intern during his senior year at Jackson-Reed High School. Outside the work-place; his work explores social identity in relation to what it means to be seen as a threat in social spaces. He’s covered multiple issues pertaining to Black Lives Matter protests in Washington, D.C. and in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
