It's slam poetry season! Come see the area's most promising young wordsmiths as they compete to be a member of the 2024 DMV Youth Slam Team. Open mic events will happen every first Saturday in November through February with the finals happening in March.

Poets: be sure to register in advance to be part of the open mic.

We invite all poets ages 13-19 to compete. Competitions consists of 3 rounds: the Quarter Finals, The Semi-Finals and the Grand Finals where we crown a Grand Slam Champion and announce the newest members of our DMV Youth Slam Team.

DMV Youth Slam Team members will receive hands-on training with our poetry and writing experts and opportunities to perform around the DMV in preparation to compete at the 2024 Brave New Voices International Poetry Festival.
