Syreeta Smith is a seasoned high-level executive with over 20 years of visionary leadership and development experience. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President for M&T Bank; Syreeta has firmly established herself as a mentor to entrepreneurs, and trusted advisor to small business owners in the Greater Washington area.
Her dedication to education, and financial literacy in the community has made her a sought-after presenter and keynote speaker for non-profit organizations, federal agencies, major corporations, and top universities; to include John’s Hopkins and the University of Maryland.
Syreeta has a rich familial legacy; she is the direct descendant of Robert Smalls, a notable African American leader and Civil War hero who escaped slavery freeing additional slaves in the process and went on to serve in the U.S. Congress to become a prominent advocate for civil rights. This connection has profoundly influenced her leadership style, instilling a commitment to service, integrity, equity, and community empowerment. With an immense sense of pride in heritage; Syreeta insisted on attending a HBCU, completing her studies in Business Administration at Howard University.
Syreeta was named an All-American scholar by the United States Achievement Academy, received the United States Business Education Award, and is a member of the National Association of Professional Women. Syreeta has a great capacity for volunteering and charitable work, which led her to establish BASE Apparel, a brand that donates to veterans in need.
