Gloria A. Nauden - Board Member
Gloria is a thirty-year marketing strategist with an imprint on local and national organizations — from media and the arts, to banking and finance. As a creative community development expert, Gloria works at the nexus of public, private, and philanthropic relationships for social and economic impacts.
Gloria is currently managing a start-up economic justice nonprofit: DC Community Development Consortium (www.DCCDC.org), with a mission to close racial wealth gap in Washington DC by channeling capital and connections to Black entrepreneurs. Gloria also serves on or supports several professional and community organizations — Capitalbop.com, Viva Dance School, Words Beats Life, Women of Color in Community Development, Anacostia Youth Film Festival, Ward8 CED, and 100 Black Women of DC.

Professional Background
Most recently Gloria served as the first Chief Marketing and Impact Officer at the Community Development Bankers Association (CDBA), the national trade association charged with advocating for the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) banking sector, and the thought leader of public policy solutions.
Prior to CDBA, Gloria worked at City First Bank, serving for almost eight years as the Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications leading the brand to achieve unprecedented visibility as the largest Black-founded and led MDI (minority depository institution) in the nation; a leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI); and a unique Certified B Corp. Broadway Financial Corp, it’s 75 year-old holding company is publicly traded (NASDAQ: BYFC), and holds over $1B in assets and is uniquely focused on impact investments in the Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA regions. Gloria led the company’s brand management; new market expansion research strategies; and managed its public, private, and philanthropic relations. She also led stakeholder engagement and educational outreach, as an officer of the banks Foundation.
In 2008, Gloria was apppoitrd to serve as a Commissioner cume Executive Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, a grant-making agency, deploying $14MM in funding and resources annually. Heralded for launching brand assets that still exist today, such as Art202 (now 202Creates), Art All Night, FotoWeekDC, and Digital Media Academy a creative economy career pathways program for youth. As well, she launched the first marketing & social media division in DC Government. DCCAH was recognized in the 2011 Fitch Report for yielding the most digital citizen engagement of any state arts agency in the nation.
During its golden era, Gloria worked at Black Entertainment Television (NYSE: BETHOLDINGS), in several capacities including creative, marketing, new business ventures. Responsible for launching BET Soundstage and BET.com, and managing sponsor and artist relations for the Rap City HBCU Campus Tour. Afterwards, she ran her own creative agency, Radar Marketing Group with clients such as Radio One, Dream/Love/The Park, Red Bull, MHUSA.
Personal Commitment
Gloria is committed to help strengthen communities through strategic alliances that fund the arts, youth development, and Black entrepreneurship. Gloria volunteers on numerous commissions, professional and community boards to achieve her personal mission. Gloria also served as an elected official of ANC 6A-02, her district on the Capitol Hill side of H Street.
