Autumn Spears | Academy Sr. Youth Development Specialist

Autumn Spears is a Washington, DC–based artist and educator. She earned her BFA in Art Education from Albright College in 2020 and brings a rich background in teaching and community arts engagement to her practice.

In 2023, Spears presented her inaugural solo exhibition, Becoming, at the Freedman Gallery in Reading, Pennsylvania—an exhibition that highlighted her distinctive style and marked a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

Her work has also been featured at local cultural institutions, including the MLK Memorial Library, Charles Sumner School, Anacostia Arts Center, and the Anacostia Community Museum. In 2024, Spears received a grant from the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities and was named a 2025 Art Bank finalist, further supporting her ongoing exploration of art, storytelling, and community.
