Frequently Asked Questions about the Towards 2040 Creative Leaders Fellowship

APPLICATION 

Can I apply if I am under 21?

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age by November 1 2023.

Is there an upper age limit?

There is no upper age limit for applicants.

How much experience will the ideal applicant have?

The ideal fellow will be on with some experience and be an emerging leader. Those with lots of experience and established leaders may have less benefit from the fellowship.

Do I have to live in DC to apply?

In order to be considered, applicants must live in Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia. Selected fellows will need to be in DC once a month between November and March, and for a week in April for the WBL Festival.

How do I submit attachments for my application?

The application has spaces for you to submit either an attachment or link. If you have issues with this, please contact us before the deadline.

What is the selection process?

All applicants will be reviewed by a selection committee. Finalists will be interviewed and selected based on their application and interview. A total of five fellows will be selected.

FELLOWSHIP

When and where will fellows meet?

Fellows will meet once a month between November and March in Washington DC. Specific details will be finalized once the fellows are selected. Fellows will also be expected to be available in Washington DC from April 1 - 7 for the WBL Festival.

What sort of time commitment is involved with the fellowship?

Fellows will meet in Washington DC, once a month between November and March for 3 hours per session. Besides that, we expect the fellowship to have an average of 5 hours per week between November and March. Between April 1 - 7 2024, fellows should expect to be more available and involved in the WBL Festival.

Does the fellowship include a formal agreement?

Selected fellows will be asked to sign an agreement outlining their involvement and responsibilities as well as those of WBL, including payment terms.
