Support the youth poet laureate

For the past six years,

Words Beats and Life has been entrusted with leading the effort for the DC Youth Poet Laureate program.  During this time, we've encountered a multitude of talented poets spread across the DC metro area.  These artists inspired us to expand our program to bring more of the area's talent to the forefront. 

If you aren't already aware, the DC Youth Poet Laureate program is part of a National Program organized by Urban Word NYC.  WBL supports the winner of the title by backing their work representing DC, publishing their book of poetry, covering the cost of their tour during National Poetry month, and aiding and supporting them as they compete for the title of National Youth Poet Laureate.

Your donation today will help us not only fund our DC Youth Poet Laureate program, but also establish our newest Poet Laureate programs in Arlington, VA and Montgomery County.
