Lily Scheckner
Lily Scheckner is a bilingual senior at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Her writing, which is often feminist, gothic or both has been recognized by The Pulitzer Center and the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, among others.
Her work has appeared in The Harvard Advocate, The Penn Review, One Teen Story, and The National Poetry Quarterly. Recently, she was a mentee in Fiction for the Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program.
Outside of writing, Lily is an advocate for social justice, interning in local government and on congressional campaigns. Also a filmmaker her short videos and documentaries have been commended by C-SPAN, commissioned by Congressman Jamie Raskin, and screened in Times Square. In her free time, Lily enjoys matcha lattes, oxford commas, and listening to Sufjan Stevens.
