Crystal Alexandra - Marketing Intern

 

Crystal Alexandra (They/Them/BadBitch) is a Writer, Model, and Creative Black Sociologist navigating the intersections of Zillenial life. They carry a wealth of knowledge surrounding race, class, gender, and Hip-Hop shaped by the sounds of the DMV. Alexandra possesses a keen ear for music with a knack for curating language among various aesthetics and styles. 


Since graduating from Columbia University’s MA Sociology program in May 2020, they have been working to build upon their pilot thesis that examined the intersections of digital spaces for Black femme storytelling and social capital in today’s popular culture climate. Alexandra has contributed to various artist campaigns, strategic marketing movements, and public relations organizing through their work within music and entertainment industry. Additionally, they have constructed and curated social media profiles for diverse brands through an interdisciplinary lens.


Rooted in a liberatory praxis, Crystal Alexandra builds and curates online platforms for Black femmes of all ages to engage in the ritual tools of storytelling and archival narratives.Their most recent bylines can be found in publications such as TV Line and The Torch Independent Newspaper. Alexandra is currently exploring the intersections of technology, culture, and education as a contributor to the “Counter Balance” blog.
