Chenjera Floyd (CJ) - Assistant Academy Director

Chenjera Floyd (CJ) is a native Washingtonian photographer located in Maryland. He earned his Bachelors in Studio Arts & Media from the University of New Mexico in 2021. He is currently a part of the Words Beats & Life team as the Assistant Academy Director. He was once a student taking graffiti, DJ production‌ and street art, then becoming a social media intern during his senior year at Jackson-Reed High School. Outside the work-place, his work explores social identity in relation to what it means to be seen as a threat in social spaces. He’s covered multiple issues pertaining to Black Lives Matter protests in Washington, DC and in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He documents his experiences and interactions on Instagram under the name @202cj.
