JUMP IN TO THE WBL ACADEMY

WBL’s cornerstones are the foundation upon which all our curricula are built. Inquiry is first because our approach depends on a dynamic, engaging process of learning in which students share and ask their instructors and each other about information that advances their knowledge and understanding. It is not enough to be told by peers or instructors; research is key to all students learning for themselves the information that shapes their understanding. WBL’s classes also allow students to apply that knowledge of history, methods, styles and innovations as they develop their own identity and understanding of the power of their self-expression through practice. The ability to do this in a community of other creatives makes room for reflection and critique. Each year, 100% of our arts education and creative employment work is dedicated to serving DC youth ages 14 to 21.
