WASHINGTON, DC - On February 26th from 2pm-10pm EST / 11am-7pm PST / 7pm-3am GMT+1, Words Beats & Life will air its sixth installment of Off the Couch Virtual Dance Party on the WBL website and Twitch channel. The northern hemisphere is currently experiencing winter, making it difficult to stay physically active and have fun doing so. Although night spots are welcoming customers back indoors, many DJs have built a following through livestreaming their sets. Words Beats & Life hosts these virtual DJs and continues to host live musical performances, jam sessions, and spoken word showcases to keep hip-hop culture visible in an evolving world. 

Off the Couch’s virtual dance party energizes its viewers to get off their feet–or sit back–and let the rhythm of 5 international DJs take them on a journey. This quarterly event brings a full day of dance music covering a variety of genres. Off the Couch features a new DJ every two hours, refreshing the atmosphere with a new personality and genre. Off the Couch is guaranteed to melt the weekend ice with fire beats on YouTube, Twitch, and WBLinc.org. The next livestream will air February 26th from 2pm-10pm EST / 11am-7pm PST / 7pm-3am GMT+1. 

Performing DJs will feature a kaleidoscope of genres from Afro EDM, house, and deep house to old school, Latin, and more. “We wanted to offer our audience a positive activity and unique response to the current world events, and that positivity and uniqueness lies in what our collective of artists and DJ's brings to the table,” says Off the Couch event creator and WBL Director of Marketing  Dominic “DJ D Painter” Painter. "Off the Couch DJ's all come from diverse backgrounds and demographics that are reflected in their musical styles, sharing their individuality and offering a platform to express their creativity speaks to the hearts of people in all their diversity."
