Our Connection to Universities

Words Beats and Life began at the University of Maryland, College Park, and because of the importance of transforming the educational experience of university students, WBL will always do workshops on college campuses.  We also understand how often university students are not connected with communities that surround their campuses, so developing innovative community service projects is central to our work.  Words Beats and Life is committed to developing the next generation and current generation of university students and leaders through our Journal, exhibitions and workshops.

Aniekan Udofia

Aniekan

“You can succeed despite where people think you’re going. It’s not about being brilliant, but it’s about the passion, intensity and the drive behind whatever it is you’re doing.”

~Aniekan Udofia

Striking the canvas with detailed texture and contour light years ahead of his time, illustrator Aniekan Udofia’s works ignite heavy dialogue and a broader appreciation for urban culture. A global representation of a universal environment, his illustrations are visible up and down the streets of Adams Morgan in Northwest Washington, D.C.

In addition, Udofia’s works have been featured in various urban publications such as XXL, Rime, Elemental and Frank 151. He also designed covers for hip hop artists: Critically Acclaimed’s CD single entitled, “Road Trip”, Flex Mathews CD entitled, “The Handsome Grandson” and the cover for author Brandy Forte’s book entitled Half Chicken Half Scholar.
